Professional Partner > Tricera Print
Over the years we have sent many of our artists over to work with Tricera, fine art printers here in Vancouver. David has worked with them for years and can speak personally to the high quality of their work. Recently, with advances and additional offerings within their business, we have formalized our relationship. As such, we feel very confident referring our clients to Tricera, where they can take advantage of their services and do so with a preferred discount rate.

Services at Tricera
Printing
With a large selection of top-quality papers and canvas, Tricera works to find the best material on which to print your work. Some media recommendations are in the Specification section below.
Shipping and order fulfillment
Customers typically have a website with all the products listed, ideally on Shopify or Squarespace. From here they invite Tricera to become an administrator so that they receive all the orders directly as they come in. They print, package and ship the product and then push the tracking number through the artist’s website to the client, creating a seamless customer experience.
*Other paths are absolutely possible for artists not on those two main platforms, but not quite as seamless.

Art reproduction
For the artists that need art reproduction services Tricera has invested in a state of the art PhaseOne Cultural Heritage setup - simply put, you won’t find better image quality. This allows them to capture artworks of virtually any size with incredible detail and colour accuracy. They’ve moved this offsite to it’s own location.
Framing (local only)
Their framing department can take your print to its final exhibition state in-house, minimizing the possibility of damage from transportation and handling. Tricera currently offers framing for local pick-up only. No shipping of framed work is available. Quotes can be provided for customers who come in-store to choose their framing options.
Mounting
Mounting your work on Alupanel, a lightweight, rigid material that will not de-laminate or warp, making it a perfect permanent fine art mounting solution for photographs or artwork. They also coat your print with a UV laminate to ensure the longevity and protect it against environmental contaminants. Each piece is supplied with an aluminum sub-frame—making it easy to hang and providing additional rigidity. This sub-frame also provides a visible space between the mounted work and the wall, giving a three-dimensional “floating” effect.
environmental Practices
Tricera use unbleached cardboard tubes for print shipments. Packaging tape is made of recycled unbleached paper that uses a vegetable starch for the adhesive. All prints are wrapped in glassine for protection, which is fully biodegradable. The papers they use for fine art prints are generally cotton based and free of optical brighteners. They also offer two “tree free” papers, Bamboo and Hemp.
Specifications if you decide to work with Tricera Print
Media Recommendations - Paintings (and media other than photography)
If you are a painter and want reproductions, Tricera strongly suggests Epson Cold Press Natural, a textured cotton fine art paper OR Epson Exhibition Canvas Matte with a hand-applied UV matte varnish.
The reason for Epson Cold Press Natural this is simple: it provides the most accurate results. Another significant benefit is that, because it doesn't contain optical brighteners, the colours don't change under different lighting conditions.
Epson Exhibition Canvas Matte prints are incredibly durable and can easily be stretched upon arrival to your client by their local framer.
Media Recommendations- photography
For photographic work, Tricera recommends Epson Legacy Platine, a 100% cotton rag base with a lustre finish. This paper combines the look and feel of the revered silver halide F-surface with a true cotton base. Importantly, it is also very durable for shipping or rough handling by the client before it gets to a framer.
Colour Management
Tricera work in a colour-managed environment from capture to final print, with all monitors and printers calibrated to international standards which typically insures 95% accuracy in a print’s colour, contrast, etc. While in practice it’s very unusual for a client to be unsatisfied with colour accuracy in any of Tricera’s printing, it is important to note that if you are sending your own high resolution image files, and not using Tricera’s art reproduction service, they cannot guarantee absolute colour accuracy.
Print sizing
Tricera do not print smaller than 8x10 inches. Otherwise, sizes are entirely artist dependent. While border-less printing is an option, Tricera strongly recommends is a default 1/2 inch border for prints. This allows a handling area and can easily be trimmed or used when framing.
Turnaround Time for Prints
Approximately 4 business days.
Fulfillment process for Your Online Print Order & Payments
Upon completion of your prints, Tricera sends you a Shopify or Squarespace invoice. Once payment has been received, the prints will be shipped to your customer. If you're using Shopify or Squarespace, they send the tracking number directly to your customer. If you are on another platform, they send you the tracking number, which you can forward to your customer.

How to prepare your master image files
Open your image file in Photoshop
If it’s not already, convert your file to “Adobe RGB (1998)” colourspace profile.
Resolution should be set at 300dpi (dots/pixels per inch).
Resize your file, and include border if required. A 1/2 inch border is strongly recommended. This will be the final printed paper size.
If you want to include an e-signature, please make sure it is included. Tricera does not add or resize a signature for you.
Then all files MUST BE FLATTENED. No layers please.
Once everything is edited as you wish, save the file as a .tiff or .tif
Decide which substrate you would like to print on: Premium Luster, Legacy Platine, Hot Press Cotton Rag, Canvas (canvas minimum 16”x20” size). More information is available on Tricera’s website HERE. Visit the store if you’d like to view in person. Tests are strongly recommended before committing.
Without disturbing the appended format (.tiff or .tif), rename your image files using the following naming convention “title_size_paperchoice”.
Size must match the image size (INCLUDING the border if used).
* Be specific if you used inches or centimetres - we suggest harmonizing with the dimensions you use on your website.
Example:
Original file name: “1876-09.jpg”
Renamed file (inches): “SalishSea_16x20inches_LegacyPlatine.tif”
OR
Renamed file (centimetres):“SalishSea_40x50cm_LegacyPlatine.tif”All files that are ready for printing should be in one folder.
Brand assets
Do you have any materials you wish to be included with your work? Branded wraps, embossing, letterhead, etc are all options. You’ll create a separate folder for these material and include with the print files (see next section for that).
Print Testing: How to grant Tricera access to your master image files
Use Google Drive
Create a folder.
The folder name should be your first and last name. You could use a company or brand name if appropriate but whatever you use to communicate with Tricera.Drag or upload all the print-ready files from your computer into this folder.
If you have any brand assets, create a folder titled “Brand Assets” within the main folder and upload those materials there.
Once all is uploaded and ready, share the folder with Tricera using dazedtricera@gmail.com and email your order using the same email address.
on-going print fulfillment for your orders: How to grant Tricera access to your master image files
Use the same folder you created in the section above. All print-ready files should go here.
In your Squarespace or Shopify administration section, you can now add Tricera Print as a “Store Manager” so they receive any customer orders directly, using the email dazedtricera@gmail.com and “Tricera Print” as the administrator name. VERY important to use this email or you will not receive a discount.
Test the first order, as a customer would.
